INFRASTRUCTURES FOR PUBLIC SPACE INTERACTION

Public Intervention

Artist // MEATS Students 2020 - showcasing Alexa's "future scenarios"
Type // Publication
Status // Completed
This project takes a critical approach to temporary interventions in public spaces, exploring practices and spatial formats that foster inter-relational experiences of diversity. The project is structured around two sets of cards: one that identifies transformative practices and another that defines spatial formats. Each student is assigned a combination of one practice card and one space card, which together form three distinct scenarios. These scenarios evolve into future narratives that integrate both practice and space, with the goal of creating situations that promote social cohesion, encourage free action, and inspire critical engagement with the environment.
Inspired by the global pandemic of 2020, the developed scenarios reflect the challenges of that time, but their outcomes are not limited to that context. The specific practice and space combinations explored in this project include "appropriation and accidental uses" and "adaptive systems for the community."
