"My desire is to set up a situation to which I take you and let you see.
It becomes your experience."
It becomes your experience."
James Turrell
I am an American-Lebanese designer. My work lies at the intersection of light, art, temporary spaces and social unity. It spans a wide range of light art and lighting design, including live music lighting production, installations, interventions, as well as interior design for both private and public spaces. Currently, my primary focus is expanding my skills with the design tools used in lighting design for live music, such as grandMA3, while also seeking opportunities to apply these skills in real-world projects.
My style of light art is influenced by the works of artists such as James Turrell, Dan Flavin, Yayoi Kusama, among others. I admire their use of light as a sculptural material and their exploration of depth, infinity and repetition.
During my BA studies in Lebanon, I discovered Turrell's work, which sparked my interest in using light as a medium. This passion deepened through ongoing research, experimentation, and opportunities I encountered during my Master's program in Spain. In May 2020, I began experimenting with my own designs and installations, aiming to participate in international light festivals. After moving to Seattle, I was exposed to lighting design for concerts through my part-time work as a stagehand, which inspired me to explore this path further and provided an ideal way for me to combine my passion for music and light.
I am always open to collaborating with other artists and connecting with them; it is a great way to share ideas, learn from one another and be a part of a great community. My aim is to create experiences that unfold both visually and emotionally, with each observer having a unique, personal interpretation.
