The Descobrir Joaquim Jordà exhibition celebrates the life and work of filmmaker and teacher Joaquim Jordà, highlighting his unique sense of humor and provocative nature. It opened on October 17, 2022, at Pompeu Fabra University’s Galeria Àrea Tallers and ran until the end of March 2023. The exhibition aimed to rediscover Jordà's contributions as both a filmmaker and educator, showcasing photographs, posters, audiovisual works, and projections.
This initiative, led by the Joaquim Jordà Study Centre in collaboration with Elisava, also featured a film screening at the nearby Sala En Construcció.
Descobrir Joaquim Jordà is based on a previous exhibition held in Jordà’s hometown of Santa Coloma de Farners but included new elements designed by students of MEATS Elisava, under the guidance of Xavi Bayona and Toni Montes. For example, we contributed the idea of adding panels with portraits and quotes that reflect the filmmaker’s essence.
